SHIKISHIMA COFFEE COUNTER

Grand opening on Monday, July 7, 2025.

The new SHIKISHIMA COFFEE store is located on the first floor of "JOMO Square," a complex adjacent to the Jomo Shimbun headquarters, right in front of JR Shin-Maebashi Station. Following "STAND," a collaboration with Shinonome Shinkin Bank, this store is a collaboration with the Jomo Shimbun.

The concept is a "modern coffee house."



- Coffee was once a social occasion -

In 17th century England, there was a culture known as the "coffee house." Coffee houses began to have value as places where people could gather, regardless of occupation or class, and could be said to have been places for what we would now call open innovation. The reason coffee houses are important in world history is that they gave birth to new businesses, industries, and systems that are still relevant today, such as journalism, newspapers, advertising, insurance, and postal services.

Just as coffee houses have provided a place for people of all backgrounds to gather and innovate, we hope to work every day to make our store, a place for learning and interaction that is a new initiative by Jomo Shimbun, a "modern coffee house" where people from various professions, companies, and local communities can come together across boundaries, and to help create a lively atmosphere in the area.

We are a coffee roaster that lives in harmony with the local community.



○ What is JOMO Square?

This office building is part of the "Maebashi City Furuichicho 1-chome District Excellent Building Development Project," a redevelopment project run by the Jomo Shimbun. It also houses "Open Residence Shin-Maebashi" and "JOMO Square Park." It is a general term for a complex consisting of three buildings: an office building, a residential building, and a parking lot. The first floor is open to the public, and the goal of the facility is to "make effective use of the facility to stimulate local interaction and become the face of creating excitement."
