NICARAGUA | Luis Alberto Balladarez

■ FLAVOR COMMENT

With a rich aroma of ripe fruit and a sweet, chocolate-like fragrance, notes of tropical fruits such as lychee, melon, and papaya add further dimension to the overall impression of sweetness in this coffee.

The vibrant acidity reminiscent of plums and Kyoho grapes, combined with a rich, fruity mouthfeel and juicy body, is also highly appealing. Thanks to meticulous natural processing, the coffee avoids any heavy notes, offering a soft and clean flavor profile.

■ FLAVOR NOTE

Kyoho Grapes, Tropical, Chocolate

■ INFORMATION

This lot comes from producer Luis Alberto in Nicaragua. He is one of the country's leading producers, with two victories at the Cup of Excellence to his name.

After taking over the long-standing export company Las Segovias in Nueva Segovia, northern Nicaragua, from his predecessor, Luis manages the drying facilities and export operations while also working as a producer himself, owning multiple farms.

Finca Lo Prometido is located deep in the steep, mountainous slopes of Mozonte, one of Nicaragua's most prestigious coffee-growing regions. Protected by the great outdoors, the coffee is nurtured by the crystal-clear rivers that flow between the mountains.
Last year, we introduced a Pacamara variety from Luis Alberto, but this year, we were able to acquire his Red Catuai variety.

Natural processing, where the coffee cherry is dried in the sun, is the origin of this farm located on steep slopes and stands as its flagship process. Thanks to Luis's excellent techniques, the coffee lacks the heaviness often associated with natural processes, resulting in a clean finish.
